Cubic, standing and seated figure represents a type of pattern for full-length Egyptian body sculptures. The installation created for an exhibition in the Bavarian State Collection of Egyptian Art in Munich evokes the form of Egyptian portraits. It is based on the three classic positions in which people were portrayed in ancient Egypt. A person posing in one of these positions was sewn up in muslin cloth, zips being inserted along the seams. When taken apart, the two- dimensional sections of cloth resemble sewing patterns or architectural plans, while any spatial impression of the sitting or standing position emanates from the portraits solely in the heads of the observers.
